I first met Chris when we came to the children's school to teach some of the parents about bike maintenace - it was an excellent and very informative half day.

He has been out to fix my pedals and my son's brake - great service and very good value.

More recently he has serviced my bike and resolved a problem with the back wheel. Again very friendly professional service. He is also very good at answering any questions relating to bikes - however simple or complicated they may be!

Both my own bike and my wifes had some issues, slipping gears etc... after spending about an hour on each, for a very reasonable fee, both bikes are now a pleasure to ride.

Chris is a very easy person to talk to and his work really is without question. I would recommend him to anyone.

I met Chris for the first time a few weeks ago and since that time he has undertaken a number of repairs & bike re-builds to a very high standard. He is very knowledgeable in all things to do with bikes and a very nice chap. I have recommended his services to all of my friends without any hesitation.

I have just been on a very enjoyable biking trip to Cannock Chase which was organised by Chris & had a great time. I am looking forward to the next trip.

Chris recently got my old Orange mountain bike back on the road after it had been out of action for months. He checked everything out and only replaced the parts that were needed and the bike looked and rode really well when he had finished. He has good knowledge and is dedicated to getting the right solution for his customer - he won't just fit parts for the sake of it.
I was very impressed with his van and how he has kitted it out for every eventuality, I would recommend his services to anyone who needs work doing to their bike.

Bicycle Buddy provided transport and support for 3 x couples on our recent 5 x day trans-pennine ride from Southport to Hornsea. His vehicle is the best I've encountered undertaking many such tours and absolutely fit for purpose, and his personal involvement with our group was first class. He ensured everything went like clockwork from pick up at home and drop off at Southport, through an agreed mid-route rendezvous in Doncaster, and final pick up at Hornsea for return to Cumbria. His advice about how our mixed group should tackle the route was spot on, and he was genuinely enthusiastic about our achievement when meeting us at the finish. Very competively priced for the level of service received, our group will be using Bicycle Buddy time and time again.

Being part of a 'Bike it' school, I have more recently become much more involved in cycling events, and every time Chris' name seemed to pop up. There was always someone keen to recommend him for work that he had done, or how friendly he is, or how mobile he is due to his incredible van! So we got in touch with him, and he has now run a maintenance course for some of the parents at our school. The feedback was so positive about how much they had learnt, and also, how easy and accessible Chris had made it! More recently, Chris has been in school helping our Bike it officer to fix and repair children's bikes in school. Between the two of them, I think they managed to do basic checks and repairs on about 40+ bikes in one school day! I think that speaks for itself! Thanks Chris!

12 of us recently did a 4-day bike ride round the coast of South Wales and before we left, Chris expertly prepared several of our bikes. He did a fabulous job in getting them fully serviced and equipped for the challenge ahead - as a result, none of us had any problems to deal with while we were away. Great service and definite value for money!

Chris provided our local primary school with a course promoting cycle maintenance for parents.

Chris has a natural aptitude for presenting and demonstrating. Whilst imparting some basic knowledge about the subject to those parents who had never repaired a puncture before, he still managed to keep the kids' attention and make sure everyone was involved and their interest was maintained.

We all learned a lot from the event, and I will recommend Bicycle Buddy to my friends and customers without hesitation.

Best wishes,

Chris did a bronze service on my spare bike, and put a new inner tube in the rear wheel. He was fast and efficient and an extremely amiable chap to boot. I will continue to use his service as and when required. I can thoroughly recommend his work.

I got Chris round to take a look at my bike as the gear shifting had gone awry and the rear wheel was out-of-true after a fall. The bike was well overdue for a general service in any case.

He could easily have said it could do with a platinum or gold service, but after giving the bike a once-over said that a silver service would be sufficient. He also noted that the chain was worn and needed replacing: at a previous (bike shop) service, an inferior quality chain had been fitted that didn't match the rest of the drive chain. He gave me the option of replacing the chain like-with-like or upgrading to the correct specification.

The bike was working superbly, and looked great when he'd finished. However, the next day the gear shifting on the front chainring stiffened up again. Within a couple of hours of calling Chris, he was back round and replaced the gear cable, which cured the problem completely. He could have just said in the first place that the cables (and any number of other components) needed replacing, whether they did or not, charged for them accordingly, and saved himself the possible hassle of another call out. However, I much prefer Chris's approach, which is to give an honest appraisal of the bike, do whatever is needed to get it running safely and efficiently, and give advice on items that may need attention in the future, but without any pressure to spend more than you need, and without doing work that may be unnecessary unless you want to spend more to return the bike to nearly new condition.

I'm reasonably knowledgeable about bikes and can do many repairs and adjustments myself, but it takes me ages, so to have Chris round and do a better job in a couple of hours than I could have done in a couple of weekends (in addition to the wheel which was beyond my ability completely) has been a real godsend, and money well spent.
